Teaching Cases

Developing surgical systems, like any global health endeavour, can present unique challenges. These challenges need not be met in isolation- learning from successes and failures in other parts of the world can strengthen the impact of individual efforts and accelerate global progress. The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery aimed to create new material for mutual learning. These teaching cases can be read individually, or used in a classroom setting. For an example of how these might be taught, please visit our teaching case launch page. These cases were developed through collaboration with multiple institutional partners. This is an ongoing project and additional cases will be added as they are created. Click on the title of each case to be directed to the individual case, or to a brief abstract for those cases still being written. If you have an idea for a new case, please let us know! If you will be teaching a case and want a copy of the teaching note, please contact us.
